HOUSE DRINKING & GAMBLING GAMES

No night of drinking and merrymaking at the Bountiful Chest is complete without a bit of friendly -- or not so friendly -- competition, in our honest opinions! That's why we have a list of ever-growing games that we like to play in-house, and we would love to share them with everyone.

Our Bartenders and Hosts will occasionally get one of these games started and open it up for our patrons to participate. Even if we aren't running a game at the moment, you are more than welcome to start a round up of your own. In fact, we highly encourage it!

If you have any questions about how these games are played, let us know and we'll help you out!

COCKY BASTARD

FROM THE MIND OF  . . .  Rhoswyn Greycloak

GAME OF CHANCE  -  MINIMUM 2 PLAYERS  -  RECOMMENDED 4-5+ PLAYERS

a GAME OF

The game begins with one large pint glass in the middle of the table and a shotglass in front of each participating player. A generous shot of whatever liquor is chosen for the game is poured into each shotglass, as well as into the middle pint glass.

Starting with the pourer's left, each player will take turns making a GUESS whether their coin toss will come up HEADS even numbers ) or TAILS ( odd numbers ). Once the player makes their call, they'll give the gil coin a good ol' FLIP ( /random ) and hope for the best!

If the coin is called CORRECTLY, then the player will pour the contents of their shotglass into the pint table in the middle of the glass and have another poured for them for the next round. If the coin is called INCORRECTLY, then the player must add their shot to the pint glass and chug the entirety of its contents. Serves ya' right, you Cocky Bastard!

Afterwards, any empty shotglasses or pint glasses are filled with another shot and the coin is passed to the next player. There really isn't any winning to this game, and play simply continues until everyone's satisfied and/or passed out drunk.

For a particularly cruel VARIATION, especially for games involving players who see the chugging of an obscene amount of alcohol as a reward rather than a punishment, allow every player to choose their own liquor of choice. That way, when the shots start piling up in the pint glass, the eventual unlucky loser will have to swallow down a disgusting cocktail of ill-mixed liquors!

BOUNTIFUL CHEST ROULETTE

FROM THE MIND OF  . . .  Jaliqai Qulaan

GAME OF CHANCE & BRAVERY  -  MINIMUM 2 PLAYERS & HOST  -  RECOMMENDED 4-5+ PLAYERS

This game is played with a bottle of the Chest's own house vodka, S'ohbieski, as well as the Guildmaster's absolute favorite punishment:  the deceptively odorless, but blisteringly spicy blood pepper vodka, Hellfire!

This game is played in ROUNDSThere should be one shotglass for each player in the current round, into which the Host will pour a shot of the S'ohbieski -- all save for one, which will house the hidden Hellfire shot! After the host SHUFFLES them around to make sure the shot is nice and hidden, each player will GRAB A SHOTGLASS from the platter. Then, on the Host's mark, BOTTOMS UP!

[ At this point, everyone playing will /RANDOM. The person who rolls the LOWEST has the Hellfire shot! ]

The round's LOSER will typically become very readily apparent -- and likely also very apparently red! -- the second that the eye-watering, throat-tightening pepper liquor hits their palate. While they sputter, cough, and reach desperately for water to quench the inferno on their tongue, the Host can begin pouring another set of shots for the next round.

This game continues until only ONE person is left, at which point they are crowned the WINNER of the game of Bountiful Chest Roulette. Congratulations! Your prize is not having your tastebuds seared off!

HIGHER OR LOWER

FROM THE MIND OF  . . .  Jaliqai Qulaan

GAME OF LUCK & CALCULATION  -  MINIMUM 2 PLAYERS & DEALER  -  RECOMMENDED 4-5+ PLAYERS

A simple game if ever there was one, if the ridiculously straightforward and unimaginative name didn't already give that away! This game is played with a deck of cards bearing the numbers 0 - 9 and requires a Dealer, both of which are typically available from the Chest by request. Each player begins the game with THREE SHOTS set out in front of them.

At the beginning of each hand, the Dealer will deal out THREE CARDS to each PLAYER that must REMAIN FACE DOWN. Players can shuffle these cards around in any order left-to-right that they see fit, so long as they do not look at the card faces. (Cheaters!) Once all players have their cards, the DEALER will deal themselves a set of three cards FACE UP.

[  At this point, the Dealer will /RANDOM.  ]

Starting at the Dealer's left, each player will BET whether their cards will be HIGHER or LOWER than the Dealer's hand. Once all bets have been made, everyone will TURN OVER their cards.

[  At this point, all players  will /RANDOM.  ]

If the player guessed CORRECTLY, then they take no action. However, if the player has guessed INCORRECTLY, then they must take one of their three shots. When these three shots are ALL GONE, the player has lost and is out of the game.

The game continues until either ONE PLAYER REMAINS or ALL REMAINING PLAYERS LOSE in the last round.
