Founders' Choice

These specialty cocktails were designed and added to the menu by the founding members

of Gold & Glory Hunter's Guild to commemorate both rich history and new beginnings.

FOUNDERS' CHOICE COCKTAILS  . . .  850 G / EACH

THE RED LADY

Just like Jaliqai Qulaan herself, this pretty red-and-gold cocktail might seem tame enough at first glance. But beware when taking on either of our resident Red Ladies:  both tend to knock those who underestimate them into the dirt before they even know what hit 'em!

We start with a generous pour of our finest Ala Mhigan whiskey that even Jaliqai herself would approve of, adding it into an ice-filled shaker with a touch of sweet cherry brandy, port wine, bitters, and a dash (or two) of absinthe for that little extra kick. Once shaken to chilled perfection, we strain it into a short-stemmed martini glass and top it off with a twist of vibrantly golden sun lemon rind!

SWOZIMTROHL

It's hard to find a drink as sweet as the Chest's own tavern manager, Ryssmyna Syvinmhaswyn, but we think we've managed to come pretty close with this cinnamon roll cocktail. Just like our own beloved Seawolf secretary, however, this drink isn't just sugar, spice, and everything nice, but has a not-so-innocent side as well. (Like when someone breaks the tavern furniture. Consider yourselves warned!)

First, we'll pretty up your cocktail with a dash of chocolate and caramel syrup swirled about the inside of your glass. Then, we fill it with three parts creamy, cinnamon-spiced rum and one part dark coffee liqueur. If it wasn't sweet enough as-is, we top it off with a few toasted caramel sprinkles and cinnamon just to be sure.

DOCTOR'S ORDERS

Feeling down and in need of a pick-me-up? Then this cocktail is just what our resident medic, Akay'a Zhwan, ordered! Or close enough, considering that we're positive that he wouldn't actually recommend alcohol for medical treatment. But what's the fun in a cocktail without booze, anyway?

Just as the doctor ordered, we take fresh rolanberries, bananas, and sweet faerie apples and blend them into a smoothie with ice. We sneak a little something extra into this cocktail by adding white rum and a touch of creme de menthe mint liqueur, and then crown it with a fragrant spring of galago mint. But for those who hate fun, naturally, we guess we could exclude the liquor if you ask nicely. (Not saying that we won't judge you, though!)

CLEAR SKIES

Tall, big-mouthed, and unnecessarily extravagant, the specially ordered martini glass the Clear Skies comes in is already itself painfully like to its namesake, Klarimel Surtsthalsyn. And that's before we fill it with an amount of stout liquor that should likely be daunting prospect -- if not slightly dangerous -- if one is not of a similarly Roegadyn-like size and constitution.

We pour, pour, and just keep pouring until we have roughly twelve onze of powerful grain alcohol to start, on top of which we pour rolanberry syrup and just a touch fermented dragon pepper juice. As the upper layers begin working their way into the clear skies below, we plop in a few ice cubes as well to cool off the sweet heat of this drink (and to perhaps water it down a bit to safely drinkable levels).

THE GOLD

A Bountiful Chest staple, celebrating the Guild that calls the tavern home: the Gold & Glory Hunter's Guild! This cocktail embodies one of the two things we love most:  gold. We love it so much that we even put it in our drinks. After all, nothing says success like drinking precious metal leaf!

The edible gold leaf in this drink courtesy of the premium Sultan's Crown cinnamon liqueur will likely be the first thing that draws your eye. However, after you taste the delectable blend we create by stirring in a dab of warm honey and star anise syrup, you'll definitely find yourself coming back for more!

THE GLORY

A Bountiful Chest staple, celebrating the Guild that calls the tavern home: the Gold & Glory Hunter's Guild! This cocktail embodies one of the two things we love most:  glory. While the drink itself is rather plain, you get the glory from partaking in one of our Glory Challenges and emerging victorious. Who doesn't love winning? We sure do!

The recipe is astoundingly simple: you take three shot glasses and fill each in turn with Kraken spiced rum, Griffinheart whiskey, and finally, Absinthe. We pair each up with a half-filled glass of dark and heady stout. Consider this drink to be some assembly required, because it's up to you how quickly you drop the shots into the ale and finish them off. But we would suggest hurrying, especially if you're racing to the bottom of glass three!

Specialty Cocktails

You won't find these cocktails anywhere but our very own Bountiful Chest tavern.

SPECIALTY COCKTAILS  . . .  950 G / EACH

NIGHT AT THE QUICKSAND

We are firm believers that it is more enjoyable to get sick from drinking too much at the Bountiful Chest than it is to get sick with whatever you may possibly catch at Ul’dah’s infamous Quicksand.

Frothy whipped egg white shaken with lemon juice and rum. We finish the glass by filling it with port until the foam of the egg white kisses the rim -- much like what one can expect from a true night at the Quicksand.

THE UL'DAHN BILLMASTER

This refreshing option earns its name due to the qualities it shares with its namesake. As one of our notorious bartenders like to put it, both are “a little tart.

Jade lime and orange shandy offer brilliant citrus notes to balance an invigorating punch of ginger, coming together to create a drink that could deliver a second wind to even the most exhausted hunter in the realm!

SHARLAYAN SIREN

The “one part class” boasted by the Bountiful Chest comes mostly thanks to this beautiful blushing cocktail, served garnished with a split Old World fig and an aromatic sprig of thyme! (Gods know the class is certainly not provided by our staff…)

We muddle a ripe quartered fig with our homemade thyme syrup to marry the flavors before shaking them with brandy, triple sec, and freshly squeezed jade lime juice. Looking closely into your glass once served and you’ll even see more delicious ruby red juice freeing itself from the middle of the fig garnish -- a testament to our fresh ingrediants!

THE REDBELLY

Even if we can’t get behind all of the choices the notorious Redbelly poachers make, their penchant for alligator pears as a dietary staple isn’t something we’re going to argue with. Our Redbelly gives the humble pear an updated twist without getting you involved in any trouble with the Wood Wailers.

An infusion of rosemary gives a unique twist to our usual gin and we shake it with sun lemon juice and sweetened alligator pear puree. Once strained, effervescent white wine fills the rest of the glass and a shake of ground clove on top makes for a cocktail that’s equal parts bubbly, refreshing, and just ever-so-slightly savory.

FALLGOURD FLOAT

Dessert is the best part of any meal so we don’t see why it shouldn’t be the best part of any bar crawl, too! Decadent, sweet, and richer than the Guildmaster herself, we certainly wouldn’t recommend too many of these for any of our patrons who are concerned about squeezing into their armor for their next expedition.

In place of shaking your drink, we use special insulated shakers internally packed with ice crystals to create the ice cream for your float before your very eyes! In goes heavy sweet cream, sugar, fresh vanilla bean, and just a tiny bit of salt and out comes delicious fresh ice cream to be topped with a full-bodied milk stout. The hardest choice you have: whether you eat the ice cream or drink it first!

BETTER BARTENDER

While we happen to think that all of our bartenders are equally loveable, we understand that our customers may have varying. Each of these cocktails starts with a base of gin, fresh sun lemon juice, and simple syrup before we add a little personality in the form of sweet fruit jam! Don’t worry: ordering a Better Bartender probably won’t offend your current bartender. Probably.

Available three ways: Blonde, made with honey apricot jam; Redheaded, made with strawberry vanilla jam; and Brunette, made with grape jam and orange zest. Each is made with a generous spoonful shaken into the drink itself and even comes with a spoonful on the side. Mix it into your drink or save it to savor once you’ve finished up! We’ll let you decide what will make your own Better Bartender the best!

THE KITCHEN SINK

There are truly no words that can accurately describe this drink but we look forward to hearing the ones you might come up with during any attempts.

While the drink itself boasts complex savory notes courtesy of fresh tomato juice, chocoboradish, and various spices, we here at the Bountiful Chest cannot promish what may end up topping your glass as a “garnish.” A must-try drink for our gambling patrons!

THE NANAMO

We refuse to judge any grizzled hunters who may decide that they need their own person pink delight for the evening. If a Nanamo is good enough for a man like General Raubahn, then it’s good enough for our manly men, too!

Luxurious silky egg white shaken with sweet wardenberry brandy, lemon juice, and rosewater. We strain it over crystal clear ice and top it off with chilled effervescent water before our miniature Sultana is topped with her crown: a delicate pink candied oldrose petal!

THE BRAMBLEPATCH

A Shroud summer in a glass, this delicate classic has always been a staple for any manner of proper party -- from a bachelorette party to a baby’s birth! Here at the Bountiful Chest, we like to celebrate every day for whatever arbitrary reason we can come up with, and we welcome our patrons to do the same! Cheers!

We shake and pour our gin, lemon juice, and simple syrup to form the perfect base before carefully adding a generous portion of brambleberry liqueur to the top of the ice, letting its beautiful color and flavor slowly fill the glass to create a drink as visually stunning as it is delicious.

WYVERN PISS

We refuse to confirm nor deny whether any of our hunters have ever had to drink actual wyvern piss in the wild in order to survive. What we will tell you is that a "very reliable source" assures us that our version tastes significantly better than the real thing.

We muddle galago mint and cilantro with a sweet pineapple syrup before introducing the mash to a splash of lime juice and our special wyvern pepper infused vodka. While the wyvern pepper may be a good deal more mild than its cousin, the dragon pepper, our infusion still adds a kick of spice and once we double-strain and serve it, you’re sure to enjoy a subtle tingle on your tongue throughout the rest of the evening.

BEHEMOTH SWEAT

For an authentic Behemoth Sweat experience, ask your bartender to brew the tea using water collected from the stunning fountain located in our foyer!

A generous shot of Drybone whiskey and freshly squeezed lemon juice elevates the herbal elements of perfectly steeped galago mint tea. For our visiting tea aficionados, this drink is sure to offer that extra “umph” that you may sometimes find missing from your teapot!

THE SNAGGLETOOTH

An ode to injuries gone but not soon forgotten. In honor of the gallant goobbue who once smashed our lovely Guildmaster into the La Noscean soil, we’ll smash plump roasted cherries to a pulp in front of you for your amusement and drinking pleasure!

Muddled, smashed, or annihilated… Whatever you want to call it, we do it to roasted cherries along with sweet maple sugar, fresh lemon juice, and a sprinkle of cinnamon before intoxicating the pulp with a generous pour of imported Ala Mhigan whiskey. Then, it all gets topped off with chilled effervescent water for a bubbly finish.

THE HAWTHORNE

In the days when the Hawthorne Hut served as a trapper’s refuge, the only thing their hunters guarded more ferociously than their spoils was their liquor. This drink pays homage to those masterful trappers with an equally masterful combination of ingredients local to the Hut itself!

Tequila adds depth to the natural sweetness of fresh pressed faerie apple juice and honey straight from Fullflower comb while allspice, ginger, and white rum all mingle to create a true taste of Black Shroud history.

THE ALA MHIGAN

As bold and straight-to-the-point as the city it hails from, a well made Ala Mhigan doesn’t need anything extra to get in its way. We make ours the way the Gods intended it to be made: three simple ingredients of the highest quality chilled, shaken, and strained for your enjoyment.

Our finest Ala Mhigan whiskey, sweet vermouth, and angostura bitters shaken and strained into a wide-rimmed stemmed glass, then garnished with brandy-soaked cherries. Really, that’s it. And that’s all it really needs to be.

CIELDALAES SLINGER

While the original recipe calls for an exceedingly expensive liqueur sold exclusively on resort islands of the Cieldalaes, our interpretation takes advantage of the complex flavor of a more local spirit: a liqueur crafted for generations in Gridania that utilizes nearly thirty different spices and botanicals. After all, we at the Bountiful Chest understand that our patrons aren’t quite as snooty as those vacationing in the Cieldalaes and would instead prefer a drink with a proper flavor!

Luscious tropical flavors like jade lime and prickly pineapple mask the kick that this innocent looking drink delivers! Featuring gin, triple sec, and our special substitute straight out of the Black Shroud, this beauty certainly packs a punch but her sweetness will keep you coming back for more!

Specialty Shots

For those that want to enjoy something that tastes great and gets the liquor flowing quicker,

our list of specialty shots served up by our skilled bartenders absolutely cannot be beat!

Secret Agent  ....................................................................

A Night with the Guildmaster  ........................................

The Bartender's Linkpearl  ..............................................

Geirskogal  ........................................................................

Grand Finale  ....................................................................

Serpent Sergeant's Scratchy Smallclothes  ....................

Lord Lolorito  ....................................................................

While a certain group of sentient cabbages native to the Shroud might make milkroot seem like a good time, we would suggest our version as a much safer alternative. Milkroot: not even once.

White Rum½ oz. )  - Chartreuse ½ oz. )  -  Absinthe dash )

Even if a few of these make you feel as happy and carefree as a moogle with a ripe kupo nut, do everyone a favor and keep your poms to yourself.

Peach Schnapps ( ¼ oz. )  -  Griffinheart Whiskey ( ¼ oz. )
Pineapple Juice (
¼ oz. )  -  Orange Juice ( ¼ oz. )  -  Bitters ( dash )

Some claim that a salty rim is an acquired taste but plenty would counter that it’s a taste worth acquiring. Only one way to find out.

St. Brennan's cream liqueur ( ⅓ oz. )  -  Butterscotch liqueur ( ⅔ oz. )  -  Salted Rim

You’d like a Night with the Guildmaster? Don't we all. Unfortunately, this shot will have to make do instead.

Chambord wardenberry liqueur ( ½ oz. )
St. Brennan's cream liqueur  (
½ oz. )  -  Sugared Rim

Nice try, but you're out of luck again. No matter how many times you ask to get the bartender’s linkpearl, the only thing you’re going to get is another shot and a higher tab.

S'ohbieski Vodka  ( ¾ oz. )  -  Lemon Juice ( ¼ oz. )  -  Sugar ( spoonful )

We typically expect those of Ishgardian military origins to seek out this shot, but we don’t necessarily want to jump to conclusions.

S'ohbieski Vodka ( ½ oz. )  -  Triple Sec ( ¼ oz. )  -  Lime Juice ( ¼ oz. )

We suggest requesting one of our lovely ladies behind the bar for this drink, as most gentlemen are known to promise the best one you've ever had and leave you sorely disappointed. (Don’t believe them if they claim it’s never happened before!)

S'ohbieski Vodka ( ¼ oz. )  -  Black Diamond coffee liqueur ( ¼ oz. )
Luxare almond liqueur (
¼ oz. )  -  St. Brennan's cream liqueur ( ¼ oz. )

The owner and staff of the Bountiful Chest kindly request that your smallclothes remain on your person at all times while on the premises. What you do once you leave the tavern, however, is entirely your  business.

Griffinheart Ala Mhigan whiskey ( ⅓ oz. )

Peach liqueur ( ⅓ oz. )  -  Lemon Juice ( ⅓ oz. )

A shot as luxurious and complex as it is short, but please don't let its namesake know we said that. We rather like the idea of staying in business. And above ground.

Pear vodka ( ½ oz. )  -  Elderflower cordial ( ⅓ oz. )  -  Simple Syrup ( ⅓ oz. )
Lemon juice ( dash )  -
Creme de Menthe ( dash )
